Git is a version control system used for tracking changes in files and coordinating work on those files among multiple people.

The Git plugin contains functions that perform the required file and version control operations:

  • Add: To stage the specified files that are to be added to the repository on the next commit.
  • Clone: To create a copy of an existing repository in a new directory.
  • Commit: To commit specified files or all outstanding changes.
  • Init: To create a new repository in the given directory.
  • Pull: To pull changes from a specified source.
  • Push: To push changes to a specified destination.
  • Remove: To remove specified files from the directory and working tree.
  • Tag: To add one or more tags for the current revision.
